Terego : The art of traveling differently in RV

Campers staying by the water – Terego website

Imagine a road trip where each stop leads you to meet a passionate producer, an inspiring artisan, or a welcoming winemaker. No crowded campgrounds, no noisy neighbors two meters from your RV… just a peaceful night, in the heart of the local countryside, with breathtaking views and local products to savor. That’s exactly what Terego offers: a unique network of free parking spots for travelers in self-contained recreational vehicles!

What is Terego?

Launched in 2017, Terego offers RV travelers a unique experience: instead of parking at a traditional campground, subscribers can stay overnight with passionate hosts throughout Quebec. By 2024, the network already boasted dozens of destinations across the province, including orchards, vineyards, cider houses, museums, historical sites, and outdoor spaces.

A total immersion in the local culture of the Eastern Townships

The idea behind Terego is simple: to allow travelers to discover the region in a different way, by fostering authentic encounters with local producers and artisans. For hosts, it’s a golden opportunity to attract a curious and food-loving clientele, while benefiting from free visibility on the web and social media. On average, each traveler spends $45 per stop, which generated $950,000 in direct economic benefits in 2024!

Terego in the Coaticook region

Good news for gourmet road trip lovers: the Coaticook region has four host companies, members of the Terego network!

  • Beaulieu Farm Market: A must for fresh, local products, baked goods, coffee, and more. In the summer, they even offer wood-fired pizza nights!
  • La Pommalbonne Orchard: The perfect place to enjoy crisp apples and other delicious products. On-site, the small farm animals will charm your little ones.
  • l’Érablière du Village de Compton: A sweet stop where you can discover maple in all its forms, thanks to their summer canteen with local flavours.
  • Rustik Bison: An agritourism farm producing exceptional bison meat that is flavorful, nutritious, ecologically sound, and ethically raised. Order online and pick up your products at their self-service kiosk, and take the opportunity to admire these majestic animals in their pasture.

These four destinations offer travellers a unique experience, far from traditional campsites, with a warm welcome and local products to taste.

How does it work?

The concept is as simple as it is effective:

  1. RV travelers subscribe to Terego and book their stopover on the platform.
  2. Hosts offer 1 to 5 unserviced parking spots (no water, electricity, or toilets). Campers must be completely self-sufficient.
  3. Visitors enjoy a free night on the site and can take the opportunity to purchase local products or discover the activities offered.
  4. The next day, they hit the road again, leaving the place as clean as they found it!

A rapidly expanding network in Quebec

With several thousand subscribers and 22,000 bookings in 2024, Terego is experiencing growing success. Furthermore, any business operating a company that produces, processes, or sells local products, or a company offering regional tourism activities, can become a host! Registration is simple, and the Terego team visits each new site to ensure its quality.
